> [!tldr] A common observation about systems failure
A common observation I've made in systems that break - **there are lots of ways for things to break, and only one way they work**.
That's saying there is a very [[Long tail]] when it comes to plugging potential holes. The ways in which things can go wrong grow exponentially with [[System Complexity]].
This is not always the case, in particular [[Antifragility|antifragile]] systems and the [[Pit of Success]] may be examples of "lots of ways to go right".
