[[Time Blocking]] is a good idea. It's, perhaps, the ultimate productivity technique. Here's the recommended order for how you should block your time:
1. Time block your time off
- Rest, recovery, and recreation are vital to a good life and being able to perform your best. They are also far too easy to jettison when "the crunch" happens.
- [[Scheduled Breaks]] can help keep you going long term
- Blocking off time to [[Sleep Hygiene|wind down before bed]]
- From an [[Six Horizons of Focus#3 - One-to-Two Year Goals|broader horizon perspective]], block out vacations! Flex work around your life, don't flex life around your work.
2. Time block [[The One Thing]]
- This should be a large, **FOUR HOUR** block. If your goal is sufficiently meaningful, you should be giving it your all.
- Schedule this time in advance so you're in control of your own destiny, make the time for [[Traction]]
3. Block out planning
- This is your [[Weekly Review]] and [[Morning Routine]], etc
- This is your [[Maker Time and Manager Time|Manager Time]]
The rest of the day can be filled in as necessary.
