A "tickle file" is a term for a type of physical file folder system used by David Allen (of [[GTD]] fame). His physically consisted of ~43 folders (or something like that, days of the month and months of the year). The point of the tickler was to give you a spot to put stuff so **you'd naturally come back across it when it was relevant**. David Allen's system worked for date-based pieces of information, but [[The Organized Mind]] dude (Daniel Levitin) would point out you aren't limited to time. You can store relevant info in any creative place such that it is easily rediscovered in the proper context.
I've started to look for ways to use ticklers in more places.
