> [!tldr] Made up terms [[Reify]] common [[Pattern]]s or configurations of systems
If you want to understand a system better, give vocabulary to its abstractions.
This makes system configurations or patterns of behavior easier to recognize and reason about.
It also shortens communications between people who share the language.

You can establish a [[nonce]] easily. If it's helpful then it transitions into [[Jargon]].

**Fork** - "the knight is positioned such that it can capture two pieces at the same time, forcing my opponent to choose which one to save"
## What about "Avoid Jargon"?
[[Avoid Jargon]] is about two things:
- **understanding** - jargon can hide reality. Especially to those who didn't develop the jargon.
- **communication** - jargon is only useful if both parties understand it.
If you're researching and learning, I'd say *embrace* jargon.
