Simple messages are more successful than complex ones.
Simpler messages say what needs said using:
- fewer words
- fewer ideas
- less fancy words
The point of communication is to get information from sender **to** receiver. Complexity forces receivers to do interpretive work they don't want to do.
I am consistently blown away by the [[Communicative Value]] of a simple graphic. So many of the most iconic slogans of all time are simple statements. Think different™️.
Repeating yourself doesn't hurt, either. Simple messages are heard best.
