> [!tldr] [[Obsidian]] bullets are not good objects
The degree to switch something is its own object is measured by how much effort must be expended to obtain it in its object form, independent of other objects.
If I were to track quotes as bullets in obsidian, could I extract all quotes in their associated metadata to a [[CSV]]?
I don't think there exists a general capability to extract bullet-level information as reified objects in and of themselves with an independent life cycle of the note that contains them.
You could approximate this by adopting metadata of the note, such as created and updated, but those would not reflect the bullet specifically.
You could utilize in-line [[JSON]] add a clunky tagging system, but that is very tedious to write and prone to breaking.
I learned this through painful firsthand experience, trying to make an [[Obsidian]]-based [[Bullet Journaling|Bullet Journal]] and [[PDW|Data Journal]] work.
