From what I've gathered, if you want to go beyond [[Minimum Viable Cardio]] to improve your [[Healthspan vs Lifespan|healthspan]], you should work bi-morally - focusing on [[Zone 2]] training for ~80% of the time you spend doing cardio, and the remaining 20% working [[HIIT]] to improve [[VO2 Max]]. This seems, in many cases, to result in 4 cardio sessions per week, where 3 of them are [[Zone 2]] training and the last one is some form of [[HIIT]]:

Basically, 3 or so workouts doing any of the [[Zone 2#Training]] methods, then a hard workout using any of the [[HIIT#Training]]. This slots into my [[Recommended Fitness Routine]] pretty effectively (although I'm using [[Yoga]] as one of the [[Zone 2]] days).
Dr. Peter Attia talks about "maximizing the area of the triangle":

I've also heard him use a 3-dimensional analogy (a pyramid), playing on our physical understanding of the world. In order to build a tall pyramid, you need a wide base.
