> [!tldr] A list of places where data about your behavior and activities already probably exists
The [[PDW|Data Journal]] is about centralizing data about your actions and giving you a place to self-reflect. Most of the most valuable data points in my data journal are manually added by me (via [[Google Apps Script]] and [[Shortcuts App|Siri Shortcuts]]) throughout the day. But - there's a huge litany of other data sources I have either set up or already existed that I (could) tap into for added insights.
In all cases these are either **already happening** or have **one time setups**.
- Fitness and behavioral metrics from your Apple Health or Google Fitness apps
- Google Location history via Google Timeline
- Browsing history on your internet browser
- YouTube or Spotify histories via their GDPR requests or Google Takeout
- Logs collected from [[Home Assistant]]
- Messaging history (text and emails)
- Analysis of photos - [[Python for Photo Location Exports]]
- Financial transactions - either via bank statements, or more easily through a tool like [Monarch](https://monarch.com/referral/qsdi7h4z82?r_source=copy)
- Git Commit history - for how frequently you code (or write, if you're using [[Git]] with [[Obsidian]] or any other file management)
- Energy use via your energy provider, bank statements, or most granularly systems like the Emporia Vue
- Screen time via your phone's in-built screen time logs
- Security systems - things like IFTTT and Wyze devices can be a potent combo
- Weather & location - you can use [[Shortcuts App|Siri Shortcuts]] to grab the weather where you are and write those things down in a spreadsheet
