**Pain** is part of life. There is no avoiding pain, it is the human condition to experience it. If you avoid pain, it will come to you.
[[Balance]] is the best you can hope for, here. Bringing pain on yourself voluntarily through healthy means is a mechanism of controlling (some of) when and how much pain you will experience in your life - but it's not possible to (A) control all of it and (B) remove its existence.
# Deliberate Pain
Deliberately exposing yourself to (certain kinds of) pain can be[^1] an intensely necessary experience. Examples of this include [[Exercise, Sleep, and Diet are 85% of Mental Health|exercise]], [[Cold Exposure]], and [[Heat Exposure]] (like a sauna, not a soldering iron). Also possible acupuncture, and other things.
