An "AHA" moment for me - [[One Piece Flow]] is not *just* for manufacturing – it's a general operating principle. So much so I just added it to the [[Principles I Like]].
One piece flow is "the ability to **produce one unit at a time**, at a rate meeting consumer demand."
"Produce one unit at a time" has *direct* implications in general [[Project Management App|Project Management Systems]].
You work one project at a time. Use a [[Pull-Based Workflow]]. Pull projects into the "Active" [[Kanban]] column when there's space. That means you get [[One In, One Out]] of productivity.
Moving something out of active should trigger some sort of update/notes on how to proceed ([[Don't leave things stuck]]).
