Heat Exposure, like [[Cold Exposure]], is a good idea to incorporate in your life. Our [[Thermoneutral]] life does not promote [[Subcategories of Health|various aspects of health]]. There is ample evidence to suggest that those who voluntarily and regularly expose themselves to **saunas** for ~20 minutes at a time 3-4 times per week are less likely to develop a number of [[Metabolic Health]] conditions. Interestingly (to me) there is a particular type of protein called **heat shock protein** that is activated by heat shock. Per [[Good Energy (book)]], there is some likely benefits of activating these proteins w.r.t. [[Inflammation]] and avoiding [[Insulin Resistance]]. # Benefits - Positive impact on [[Metabolic Health]] - Increasing blood flow, lower blood pressure, & improve cardiac function - Lowered [[Stress]] & improved mood # Recommendations - Find a sauna, use it - If you don't have access to a **sauna**, look for hot [[Yoga]] - Go outside & move when it's hot - Hot tubs also work **** ## Source - [[Good Energy (book)]] - [[Simple Science Fitness]] ## Related
