> [!tldr] The name of the "for me it's situational, for anyone else it's just who they are" bias
The **Fundamental Attribution Error** is the name given to the human tendency to see bad behavior or poor performance differently when looking at _ourselves_ (where it feels situational) versus when looking at _others_ (where it feels like just who they are). It's not different. It's equally likely to be innate or situational in both accounts. Moreover, it's probably **both** to some extent in both situations.

> - **You think** - I'm super late and this is super important. Normally I'm a great driver!
> - **Others think** - wow that dude is a terrible driver.
