> [!tldr] Details have their own details, which have their own details... While thinking about how the first 90% of the work gets done in 10% of the time almost regardless of the discipline (painting a room, writing code, building a shelf, etc), it made me realize that the issue is *details*, and that *details beget details, which begin details*. You paint a room. Then you put on *trim*. The trim needs painted as well. Then you use caulking to deal with the seam between the trim and the wall. Then you deal with any inconsistencies in the caulking. Every level of detail has its own form of detail to work out. It's self-similar. Like a fractal. ![[Details are a Fractal 2026-07-22 07.55.22.excalidraw.svg]] %%[[Details are a Fractal 2026-07-22 07.55.22.excalidraw.md|🖋 Edit in Excalidraw]]%% **** # More ## Source - self
