Some recommendations for managing [[Blood Sugar]] from [[Good Energy (book)]] author, Casey Means, in the book.
1. **Don't Eat "Naked Carbohydrates"** - carb-predominate foods eaten alone, like eating a single banana. Pair them with healthy protein, fats, and/or fiber.
2. **Sequence Meals for Optimal Metabolism by "Preloading" with Low-Glycemic Foods** - essentially save the breads and chips and other starchy foods for last
3. **Eat Earlier** - eating late causes worse blood sugar spikes
4. **Tighten the Eating Window** - use [[Intermittent Fasting]]
5. **Avoid Consuming Liquid Sugar**
6. **Add Fiber to All Meals** - slows digestion. Eat legumes, veggies, nuts and seeds, beans & avocados, lentils
7. **Use Food Adjuncts, Like Vinegar and Cinnamon, to Lower Glucose Responses** - these apparently help.
8. **Walk for at Least Fifteen Minutes After Meals** - help get your [[10,000 Steps]] and you apparently lower your spike
9. **Eat Mindfully and with Gratitude** - basically just eat slower
Also, probably get a continuous [[Blood Sugar|glucose]] monitor because [[Feedback is Key to Learning]].
